“In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; In the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.” Psalm 5:3
There is truly something special about the morning. The sun rising, the freshness of the air, birds chirping with excitement as they go about their day. The beauty of day-break is truly poetic. It’s a new beginning, a fresh start, a chance to begin again more wisely.
That is on a good day of course. To be more realistic, mornings are often a nightmare. The alarm going off can be a rude awakening as we struggle to get out of bed. Not having enough sleep, coupled with the thought of going into a hostile working environment doesn’t inspire one to sing songs of joy.
Our minds are in a constant battle bombarded with thoughts. Even in our sleep, the battle rages on in our heads. Greater than any external fight, is this war we have within. It is a battle we must win! Armed with the sword of the Spirit we have the weapons necessary to conquer.
“Thanks be to God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ” (2 Corinthians 2:14)
A crucial time to win this battle is in the morning.
Psalm 5:3 gives us a great morning strategy.
◊First thing in the morning, lift you voice to God knowing that He hears you. Praise Him and be thankful. Let His Presence energize you. More than needing coffee, we need His Spirit.
◊Secondly, lay your requests before Him. Knowing that nothing is too difficult for Him and nothing is insignificant to Him. He loves you and cares about every detail of your life.
◊Thirdly, expect and anticipate His reply! It may not come immediately, but be patient, He will answer. The key is to be alert and expectant.
Much Love to all!
